I absolutely love this recipe. It’s healthy, seriously cost effective, good for the environment and easy! It’s a win/win on so many levels.

1 bar of Castille soap
8 cups of water
1 tablespoon of olive oil

That’s it!  That’s all there is to it!

This doesn’t have strange chemicals in it that you don’t know what are.  The castille soap is made from coconut oil which is really healthy for your skin and body.  The olive oil is also great for your skin, and depending on the essential oil you choose (I use lavender), most of those are also beneficial.  The witch hazel is good for tightening pores.

It’s the perfect soap to use in the bath for your spa day and because it is so cost effective and healthy it’s great for hand soap as well!
I got the original recipe from here and changed the recipe some. The original called for more water and glycerine, but the Castille soap I use has glycerine in it. I added the olive oil because it’s good for your skin and helps to keep the mixture creamy. The witch hazel is meant to keep the oil from clumping.

Thanks for visiting The Proverbs Woman!  Have a relaxing day!
